Mission
Friends of Nepal provides a framework for our membership, predominantly Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, to stay connected to each other and to Nepal, while continuing to help in the development of Nepal in concrete ways.
 

Grants Program

Through its membership and supporters FoN funds and promotes grass-roots projects that target especially vulnerable peoples throughout Nepal. Despite Nepal’s geographical and cultural wealth it remains an extremely poor country in which people live without basic health care and education. No longer isolated as the country was for centuries, young people now risk losing their cultural identity, language and traditional heritage. Friends of Nepal was founded in 1980 by a group of returned Peace Corps Volunteers to Nepal intent upon supporting initiatives on a human scale. Particular emphasis in all our projects continues to be on maintaining support for local community priorities. FoN currently is working in partnership with Nepalese non-governmental organizations on projects in health care, rural income generation, education, and cultural preservation.

FoN has developed this dynamic web site as a tool for keeping our membership informed of work in progress. By establishing the site as a communication and networking hub for RPCVs in the US and abroad it allows for the free flow of information in sharing perspectives about development, travel, linking up with old friends and much more. Application procedure for seeking a grant
Any Non-governmental organization (NGO) is eligible to apply for a FoN grant. We require that the NGO is either Nepal-based or has an arm in Nepal providing direct support and is dedicated to working for the good of the Nepali people. For example, a US-based NGO is eligible to apply as long as that NGO has a project staff located in Nepal qualified to implement and oversee the intended program.

Business Card – $20	You simply mail us your business card, we take care of the rest!
Personal Greeting – $20	Include your message (15 words or less) in the “Special Requests” box when you pay.
1/8 Page – $35	Send us your business card, or artwork, or contact us if you need custom work done and we can probably accomodate for a small fee. For text ad just include in “Special Requests” box when you pay.
1/4 Page – $60	Same instructions as above.
1/2 Page – $110	Same instructions as above.
