Retirement of Daulat Karki Request

From PCHQ Nepal Desk Officer Josie Mahlie-Scheller:

Daulat Karki, our current Training Manager, is retiring at the end of June after 20+ years of service with Peace Corps Nepal. He is completely dedicated to the PC and speaks eloquently about how PC has changed his life and his family’s lives. He was impacted first by a PCV teacher when he was a boy. He then got a job with the Peace Corps, fulfilling a dream, starting first as an LCF. I am requesting your help to reach out to the Nepal RPCV community to announce his retirement and ask for people to send in photos and/or e-mails about Daulat, memories of Daulat, and/or well wishes for him in his retirement. We’d like to make a book for him to take home, something as a hard copy that he can keep on his coffee table and show people when they come over. He often brings out PC memorabilia when people come to visit his home as his involvement with the PC is such a central part of his life story.

I appreciate your assistance in reaching out to the community and collecting these items.I could take both electronic copies and hard copies of items. I am requesting that I receive them by June 1st. Contact Josie at: jmahlie@peacecorps.gov

Friends of ADWAN Nepal (FAN) seeks a Treasurer for its Board

FriendsofAdwan (FAN) is a small NGO with a small budget that requires straightforward, simple record keeping. FAN raises funds to support the work of ADWAN (www.adwan.org), a grassroots NGO in Nepal that works to empower Dalit and other marginalized women and children in rural Nepal.

The treasurer is a Board position. All positions are Volunteer. The Board meets on Skype about four times per year. Treasurer's report of cash flow and balance is included at all Board meetings.

Accountancy responsibilities include maintaining cash flow and balance statements, bank account ledger and donation records.  The treasurer wires funds to Nepal quarterly. The records have all been set up by previous treasurers and just need to be maintained.
