Board Nominees
Here is a brief statement from each of the Friends of Nepal members that have been nominated for the Board.
President
(Aaron Rome, N’172)
I have been involved with Friends of Nepal since 2000. I served on the grants committee for about 7 years and have been the President of the Board for the past 3 years. I would like to remain the board president for another 2 year term. In addition to managing and improving communication with our members through our website, I intend to facilitate more involvement of our members in Friends of Nepal activities including our Bhutanese Refugee Program, Grants Committee, newsletter and micro-grants program. I will also coordinate with our membership and leverage our network to help re-establish the Peace Corps program in Nepal as prudently as possible.
I was a PCV in Nepal from 1991-1993 in Khotang District. My assignment was Water and Sanitation and I worked with UNICEF to establish a new program to protect springs and develop water systems in very arid hill villages. I appreciate your vote.
