White House Rally Held for Nepal
About l,000 people turned out Sunday, Jan. 29, the Chinese New Year, to protest the Maoists actions in Nepal. Another rally is planned for the summer.

Party Candidates Resign in Fear
BBC reports that about 600 political candidates have resigned from the Nepal elections scheduled for February 8. One candidate has been killed, one kidnapped, and others threatened by the Maoists.
