Indra Dhai,
You were one of my favorite teachers too! I remember 1989 like it was yesterday! My kids just pulled out a picture of you teaching N168 how to wash clothes in the Trisuli River! I still use the language skills you taught me – I have good friends here in Greensboro, NC who speak Nepali with me regularly. They were refugees from Bhutan and came to live in the USA about two years ago. I even wrote a Mother’s Day card in Devonagri to my “thuli ammaa” today. She loved it. My Aunt here in the US was just declared “cancer free” from her lung cancer this week. You are in my thoughts and I hope all of your treatments go as well as hers.
